On 19 March 2026, Woodhill Country Club in Pretoria East will host more than just another golf day. It will highlight Breast Cancer Awareness with purpose, urgency, and a clear mission to focus on the need for screenings, spark conversations, and save lives.
BooYaa Golf, South Africa’s premier golf apparel brand, has partnered with Screen Her Save Her (SHSH) for this year’s SHSH Golf Day, aligning the brand’s community-driven energy with a cause that reaches far beyond the fairway.
“The Golf Day is a cornerstone for us at Screen Her Save Her, because it highlights all the aspects around Breast Cancer Awareness with purpose and momentum,” says Rosa-Marie Cox-Cronje, Director at Screen Her Save Her. “Our non-profit was created with a very clear mission to ensure that every woman, regardless of her financial situation, has access to life-saving breast screening. Far too many women in South Africa only discover their cancer when it is already advanced, not because they didn’t care about their health, but because they didn’t have access to the right tools at the right time.”
This reality is shaping their ambition for the year.
“This event allows us to tell those stories, remind people that 1 in 8 women may face breast cancer in her lifetime, and show how something as simple as funding a mammogram can literally save a life. Our impact this year focuses on raising enough to fund hundreds of mammograms and breast ultrasounds through our partnership with Screen Her Save Her’s mobile units, and on mobilising communities to talk openly about early detection. Every golfer, sponsor, and supporter is directly contributing to women receiving gold-standard screenings and giving them the best chance at survival,” adds Cox-Cronje.
For BooYaa, stepping into that space felt natural.
“We love to make a difference in the community and wanted to get involved with SHSH as they are busy doing amazing work for women and breast cancer awareness,” says Chantelle van Greune from BooYaa. “They are assisting those who cannot afford screening and making a difference one day at a time. The Hermosa shirt in our range felt like a perfect fit to do a collaboration with them as well to tie in with the pink.”
The Hermosa piece will feature prominently at the event, adding a visual reminder that awareness is not abstract. It is worn, seen, and supported in real time.
Community partnerships remain central to SHSH’s reach.
“At Screen Her Save Her, we believe community is everything, because saving lives from breast cancer is not something one organisation can do alone. Having a dynamic brand like BooYaa on board means our message does not just stay in awareness campaigns but moves into everyday spaces where people live, work, and socialise. BooYaa’s support helps us amplify awareness beyond the traditional medical community,” says Cox-Cronje.
For BooYaa, that crossover between lifestyle and impact is intentional.
“BooYaa is a lifestyle, a movement. We always want to make a difference wherever we can. We strive to be a brand that is more than just golf apparel. We really want to make a difference in the industry and the world we live in. Golf connects people, and we love to be part of it one way or another,” adds van Greune.
On 19 March, that connection will translate into funding, awareness, and practical support for women who might otherwise go without screening.
At Woodhill, every drive, putt, and pink shirt carries weight. And if the day does what it is designed to do, hundreds more women will receive the screenings that could change everything. That is a round worth playing.
